With pleasure we announce the appointment of Jan Teesdale to the newly formed Umpire Development Officer role at Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty.
Well known and respected across the Zone Jan brings years of experience and knowledge at national and international level in umpiring, umpire coaching and assessing to the role.
Jan umpired at the 1991 World Championships in Sydney and was awarded the International Umpires Award in 2000. She was employed by NNZ form 2001-2008 as the National Umpire Coordinator and National Umpires Squad Coach.
Currently Jan is involved as a facilitator for Umpire Coach/ Assessor workshops, is on the NZUDG for NWBOP and was recently appointed on the ANZC Umpires Panel.
The Umpire Development Officer role will focus on the effective delivery of a Coordinated Community Umpiring Plan which will;
- Grow and sustain participation numbers for Umpires
- Increase the quality of Umpires and Umpire coach/assessors in all areas and at all levels
- Provide opportunities for umpires on the national scene.
Jan and her husband Graeme have recently moved to the Bay of Plenty and she will be based in the Zones Tauranga Office in Sport Bay of Plenty.
