Steel Steps is our Netball South Talent Development pathway for identified players with potential.
Our Talent Development Pathway consists of a variety of levels:
Marking a highlight in their careers, Netball Central Zone players Amelia Walmsley, Laura Balmer and Sarah Guiney will line up for the New Zealand U21 team to contest next month's World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.
Several Umpire Coaches from Netball Northern were proud to be part of the Umpire Coach Panel at the recent North Island Junior Championships — a development experience that proved both rewarding and enriching.
In 2025, the Northern Mystics have focused on strengthening our connection to the past, honouring the people, moments, and milestones that have shaped the identity of our club.
The Mystics Men have once again proven their class, completing a dominant 3–0 clean sweep over the Stars Men to retain the Te Taonga Manu Taki trophy for the second consecutive year.
From the 7th to the 10th of July, the U18s Championships delivered four action-packed days of intense competition, skilful play, and inspiring sportsmanship. Some of the region’s best young netball talent came together to compete, demonstrating not only their abilities on the court but also remarkable hard work and determination.
With some of the biggest tournaments like AIMS and UNISS on the horizon, it’s time to think beyond game plans and focus on what keeps teams healthy, connected, and performing at their best. Tournaments are a big physical and emotional load, so preparation is key.
