After securing a draw in Game 1, Waikato Bay of Plenty were on the hunt for a win. The team had spent the week developing their structures and combinations and continued to build their connections through court.
Spending more hours in her car than on the netball court, perseverance has paid off handsomely for Central Manawa midcourter Tyra-Jade (TJ) Alexander and with it a breakthrough season in the Synergy Hair Netball League (NNL).

The pre-season for the WBOP SHNL team has been intense and exciting, with the squad having a great team building camp earlier in the year where they were able to set expectations and gather a thorough understanding of what the season ahead looks like.
Newcomer Martina Salmon got more than she bargained for when making her debut for Central Manawa in the Synergy Hair Netball League and is now primed for a repeat dose in Round 2.
Player retention has provided a healthy foundation for defending champions Central Manawa to launch their 2024 Synergy Hair Netball League (NNL) campaign starting with their season-opener against the Comets in Auckland on Sunday.
