Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty (NWBOP) is one of New Zealand’s five Netball Zones, focused on leading, supporting, and growing the sport across a region that spans both urban centres and rural communities. Our purpose is to strengthen a connected and capable netball system by working with centres to increase participation, supporting their staff, volunteers, players, coaches, and officials, and providing development opportunities and pathways across the Zone. There is a collaborative relationship with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, but the Board is not responsible for the Team.
Brimming with energy, experience and a shared commitment to growing the men’s game, Central Zone Men’s Netball have assembled a well-credentialled coaching and management group to lead their programme for the 2026 season.
The Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone motion to seek a Special General Meeting of Netball NZ was passed on Sunday 7 December. As per the Netball New Zealand Constitution, three Zones are required to request a Netball New Zealand Special General Meeting.
Netball Northern recently hosted two online roadshow sessions, giving our community a clear look into how the Netball Northern Zone Athlete Performance Pathway works. Coaches, administrators, centre leaders, players, parents and volunteers joined us to understand how players move from emerging talent through to high-performance opportunities, and how we can work together to support them.
The Netball Northern Summer Squad has wrapped up an energising three-week programme, bringing together 49 talented athletes from across the Zone, with a mix of promising U18 players and emerging performance-level athletes.
