As an umpire you have the best seat in the house at every game!!
It’s a great way for players and coaches to increase their rule knowledge; plus, for those that have hung up their bib, why not pick-up a whistle – it’s a great way to stay involved!
The good news is, to get started all you need to bring is a bit of enthusiasm and a passion for the game - we’ll take care of rest and give you the tools and support you need to become an umpire.
The NNZ Umpire Development Framework is designed to develop umpires at all levels of the game; from grassroots to elite.
There are many opportunities to become involved as an umpire in Netball, with clear pathways and support structures available for those aspiring to officiate at the highest level.

Umpire Coaches and Assessors are a vital tool for umpires at all levels and are available to assist at Centre, Zone, National and International levels.

Registrations for this year’s Zone Theory and NZ Theory Umpire exams are now closed via the Learning & Development portal. We will update the website and send out notifications once the exams open again for 2017.
